I love including nature in my decor, and I’m always looking for unique decorating ideas that you don’t find in every other house on the block… Enter branches! Decorating with branches is a stroke of pure genius. They have amazing texture, are a natural sculpture, and allow us to bring the beauty of nature into our homes without getting cutesy. They work equally well in modern homes as they do in a traditional or rustic home, and sometimes they are even free! Throw in the benefit of the up-cycling element, and I think we have a winner in the decor arena! So we found you some great inspiration for branch decor, and a couple of DIY projects to boot!
Decorating with Branches
Lighted Tree Branch Decor
This DIY branch ladder by ‘Pikidilly‘ is an easy to follow tutorial. Decorating with branches is an easy pick when the decor looks like this! You could use this ladder to display blankets, as a towel rack in a rustic bath, or just wrapped in globe lights like they have it here. Very Boho chic!
Learn to make this super easy lighted branch decor from ‘Food52‘. They used copper wired LED string lights and wrapped their branches. (They show you the tricks!) Then they used it as the perfect entertaining accent!
‘Kollobora‘ has a complete tutorial on how to make this lighted branches room divider from ‘Mark Montano’… there’s even video! This would be an amazing piece for a small home… Aren’t we always looking for creative ways to divide space?
From ‘Apartment Therapy‘, this is an idea using branch decor behind the bed, and is from a home tour in Seattle. I’ve had beds on the diagonal like that, and it’s always a problem figuring out how to fill that awkward empty space. Great idea, and I love the texture. The lights are simply pendant kits from the home improvement store.
Also from ‘Apartment Therapy‘, take this branch decor project one step further and make your own DIY tree branch floor lamp!
Make this tree branch chandelier with this tutorial from ‘Mama is Dreaming‘! Remember to always choose LED lights when working with flammable materials like this!
Get inspired with this branch chandelier from ‘Ruffled‘. This one is so special, it was used at a wedding! Instead of using electric lights, they simply hung votives on the branches. Remember, safety first! And you can always use LED votives!
We found this branch chandelier at ‘Olive and Cocoa‘, but there is no tutorial… We are figuring with some thin floral wire you could create a wreath shape, then use ribbon to hang. Add hanging votive holders, and voila!
‘Decor 8‘ has a full tutorial for their version of a branch chandelier. This is a really inexpensive and unique bit of branch decor, love it! Also, pay attention to her safety tips, they are smart!
