Cute and Cool Teenage Girl Bedroom Ideas

So recently my youngest daughter informed me that it is time for a room overhaul… She gets that from me. ;). In any case, since she’s heading to high school soon, I think she’s about right. (Just FYI, no, that isn’t her up there… but if we get her room done, maybe she will grace us with a photo of that beautiful face? Perfect place to embarrass your teenage daughter? They call it the comments section. Yes, I know she doesn’t read them. She will :)) So in researching some ideas for her that might be within my budget and within my tolerance (winking good natured-ly here…) we came up with two surprises. First, teens are an image oriented generation, and not just on their cell phones. Second, they aren’t asking for the world here, just some individuality, and a chance to play with some pretty things before they have to leave home and pay their own water bill. Done. So here are some cute, cool, amazing and really fun teen girl bedroom ideas. Note: We went Pinterest trolling, so Β many of these photos are uploaded by the homeowners, or don’t have any good source. Please let us know if we missed crediting some one you know!

This is what I think of when I think cute teen girls room… Happy colors, updated fabrics…

Apparently, this is what teen girls want. Photos, lights, and more photos! (Oh, and no photos of them, please…)

Teen girls will love this video by Bethany Mota for a DIY heart collage… Tons of other teen girl ideas too!

Another quick idea, using white lights and clothespins for photos… We are going to try this in my daughters room on a larger scale, and try using some more modern looking clips…

Did we mention teen girls are image oriented? Double sided tape or poster putty would work to create this photo wall. Really great way for teens to develop those connections with people they care about, and learn how precious those connections are.

Yep, another one. Cable, or picture framing wire and clips. Voila.

Need an accessory idea? Create meaningful words from paper mache letters from the craft store. Use paint, glue, whatever… make it cool!

Here is a quick project from Clever Thursday… these washi tape switch covers can be done quick, cheap and are temporary…perfect for dorms, or for teen girls who change their mind. A lot.

House of Turquoise has this great idea from designer Jenna Sue… using a Target trash can as a side table, with a good can of spray paint! Perfect idea for a teen room.

At first, the Pinterest world seemed to be at a loss for who made this lighted mirror garland, but I could imagine it’s on a teen girls wish list. Curtain rod, white mini lights, and a mirror curtain. We kept looking, and finally found the lighted garland tutorial on Apartment Therapy.

What can’t you do with cupcake liners and Ikeahackers? Let’s start with this cupcake liner pendant light tutorial.

From Madigan Made, this DIY furniture update with glass gems is a perfect teen girl project…and yes, she can do this!

Teen Vogue has a bunch of temporary decorating tricks every girl should know!

Finally, this last one should be easy for your teen to handle all on her own. πŸ™‚

Can you tell me where to get the pillow “Believe In Yourself”. It is long, skinny white pillow with black cording on the aqua bedroom?

Would you use normal shiny picture paper or copy paper for the pictures? I’m doing this and I can’t decide. The picture paper would shine when light hit it. Please help……

If you are looking for something that doesnt leave a hole or a mark, we like the 3M Command hooks… they hold really well, but can be totally removed when you are done with them…

        Ms. Woodard,
My daughter loves the blue bedroom with the diamond shape cut outs. Is that wall paper? If so can you tell me where you purchased it. Thank you. Tanya

You could also use little picture frames… I don’t know if you were going to do the whole photo wall thing (bc if you do that one then you can’t use frames) BUT if you are doing the heart wall or something else similar, you can get small picture frames in a bundle on Amazon for cheap! And you can spray paint them different colors if you want.

I had that same problem and that is what I did πŸ™‚
